Detailed Description: Aviation Communication Laboratory Poster

Title: Aviation Communication Laboratory

1. Introduction:
Since the establishment of our department 84 years ago (in the Republic of China calendar), it has received support and guidance from all sectors, and its curriculum, equipment, and faculty have been recognized by relevant institutions both domestically and internationally. Since the 88th academic year, the department has been approved to add an Avionics Division. To strengthen students' core competencies in aviation communication and navigation, this Aviation Communication Laboratory was established.

2. Object:
Targeting aircraft communication, aircraft navigation, and aircraft radar equipment, this laboratory designs practical training modules so that students can understand the principles of various aircraft communication, aircraft radar, and aircraft navigation systems. Through hands-on operation, students practice the skills of testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting communication, navigation, and radar equipment.

3. Teaching & Research:

  1. This training facility can support the following courses: Aviation Communication Practicum, Aviation Navigation Practicum, and Special Topics Projects.
  2. The facility can support students in producing special topic projects related to aviation communication systems, achieving practical application of what has been learned.

4. Facility:
Aircraft Avionics System Training Console, Aircraft Weather Radar System, Automatic Direction Finder (ADF), VHF Omnidirectional Range (VOR) equipment, Air Traffic Control (ATC) equipment, Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), Navigation Instrument Trainer (AT-01-2), and Flight Instrument Trainer (AT-12001).

Equipment Photos:

  • Two cabin communication equipment photos: one showing the front panel of a cabin communication unit, and another showing a white dish-shaped antenna device.
  • Aircraft Avionics System Training Console photo: a desktop training console equipped with multiple instrument panels, a screen, and control knobs, with a drawer-style storage cabinet below.
  • Flight Instrument Trainer photo: an upright training console with multiple circular instrument indicators on top and a control panel with switches below.
  • Five close-up photos at the bottom, in order: an aviation communication transceiver unit, a communication unit with a microphone, a navigation instrument trainer panel, a Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) unit, and a control panel unit with a headset jack.
